During Phase I of The Crimson Standard, the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility underwent extensive renovations, including an expansion on the building's east side to create the Sports Science Center.
"The health and safety of our student-athletes is a top priority. The new Sports Science Center will take our medical care to the next level and help separate us from our competition." -- Jeff Allen, Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine
At 14,000 square feet, the $20 million Sports Science Center has more than double the square footage of the previous athletic training footprint. This new state-of-the-art facility has spaces dedicated to rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, recovery, sensory deprivation, mental and behavioral health, assessment, virtual reality, and cryotherapy.
The Sports Science Center provides Crimson Tide student-athletes with the best facilities for medical care and helps Alabama Athletics continue attracting the nation's best recruits.
